District Reviews: "It's disgusting... I live in Brandywine Acres, less than 2 miles from the high school. The kids that ride a late evening bus on Walnut Drive think that is their personal trash can. Any night after the bus goes by (after 8:30 or later), one can find burger king bags, wrappers, soda cups, half eaten sandwiches, candy wrappers and any other kind of trash thrown on the ground and on the street. The kids are really taught good community relations and respect for other peoples' property. Makes me proud to live in one of the highest taxed school districts in Berks County! What a joke." --- Anonymous Community Member

District Reviews: "District is fair at best. School district administration seems more focused on their own agendas than on the well being of the students. Communication between the school and parents seems to be non existent. Guidance staff is poor at best, direting students toward programs and then reneging on the schools promises. School administration is mediocore at best. District Administration fails to follow procedures and due diligence resulting in failure to secure grant money due them from the state and other sources. As a result, it is the students who suffer. On the plus side, the school has a nationally known ag program." --- Anonymous Parent

District Reviews: "I attended Tulpehocken School District growing up (from 4th to 12th grades - at Penn Bernville Elem. and Tulpehocken High School). Tulpehocken is a small school district. It does not have many of the amenities you will find at other school districts. It also has very few businesses located within the district inorder to receive revenue. BUT, that being said, parents should not avoid Tulpehocken. As a smaller school district, children receive a level of personal attention that is rare in school distrcits today. Staff members teach individaul children on the junior high and high school level, for several consecutives years and get to know them well. I believe that Tulpehocken students receive a better than average amount of attention because of this. Teachers are able to work with students learning difficulties and strengths. Teachers can also recognize changes in behavior that might signal budding problems. The student body also seems to have much less social conflict than at larger schools because of it's smaller size. Parents in this district should cultivate and enjoy this close knit environment (get to know the teachers and staff) and get involved in your child's ciriculum. The areas in which this district may be lacking at the high school level can be fixed by being attentive to your child's ciriculum and enrolling your child in cooperative classes at RACC, activities at the Google Works, or football programs at a larger district. The pro-active Parent in this district can provide for a their child and safe and secure environment AND an education that is challenging and diverse." - --- Berks Mom
